Welcome to VHS Garage!
A quick hello from VHS Garage: real-life VHS events, a playback screensaver, browser-based capture tools, and more analog trouble on the way.
VHS Garage is a lo-fi love letter to the golden age of video. We are here for the tapes, the weird labels, the late-night recordings, the living-room stacks, the old VCRs that still work, and the people who know there is something magic about pressing play on a format that was never supposed to last this long.
In real life, that means events. Swap meets, pop-ups, screenings, Sunday hangs, and reasons to get people in the same room with boxes of tapes and stories attached to them. Bring your doubles. Bring your best finds. Bring the tape you are not sure anyone else will understand.
Online, we are building little tools for the same mission.
Watch in the Garage
The VHS Garage playback screen saver lives at vhsgarage.com/watch. It turns found footage and garage scenes into a lean-back, channel-surfing experience: drop in, let it play, and let the static do its thing.
Capture Your Own Tapes
We also have browser-based capture software at vhsgarage.com/capture. It is made for people who want to digitize tapes without turning the process into a giant production. Capture clips, add useful details, and get them ready for YouTube with better titles and thumbnail ideas.
Get Garage Updates
Events, capture tools, tape drops, and the occasional strange signal from the workbench.
Either one works - we only need one. Drop both if you're feeling extra.
More Coming Soon
Merch is coming too: shirts, stickers, small-batch drops, and other things that feel like they belong next to a stack of clamshell cases. Nothing too polished. Nothing too precious. Just VHS Garage stuff for people who are already in too deep.
This is the first post, so consider it the tracking adjustment. The picture will get clearer as we go.
